POSITION SPECIFICS

The Donald P. Bellisario College of Communications seeks applications for the position of Production Specialist, who will play a key role in assisting faculty and students with TV and audio productions and production-related classes.

Responsibilities: The duties are wide and varied and include live show and pre and post-production support for TV newscasts and sports shows and special projects. The role includes helping students and faculty with camera, editing and audio workshops and training, ongoing equipment and studio use, and technical troubleshooting, as well as guiding students through a web content management system. Specific responsibilites include the following:

  • Assist with Bellisario TV/Radioproductions (including Centre County Report, After the Whistle, In the Game, COMM 360 newscasts, and others)
  • Assist with Bellisario production classes by answering questions and helping students with technical functions (including COMM 480,COMM 465, COMM 360, COMM 402 International Reporting, Podcasting, etc.)
  • Assist with camera, audio, editing, website workshops and training to support production-related academic courses
  • Assist with Bellisario Broadcast Summer Camp productions, training and workshops
  • Assist with pre and post-production of TV newscasts, studio set-up and breakdown, and website posting as needed
  • Ensures safe and professional use of news studio facilities. Regularly checks equipment to confirm proper function and ensure all items are accounted for
  • Assist Director of Media Center operations with logistical and production support as needed
  • Help students prepare material for broadcast, web, social, and non-broadcast distribution
  • Help students as needed with general production-related issues, questions and training,ability to troubleshoot basic audio/video tech. issues
  • Other duties as assigned to support Bellisario College
Skills: Mac and Microsoft OS experience, knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud knowledge, preferably with Adobe Audition and Premiere.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree 1+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted Required Certifications: None

SALARY & BENEFITS

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $42,100.00 - $61,000.00.
