Inova Gastroenterology Services is looking for a dedicated Clinical Manager Outpatient to join the team. .This role will be full-time, day shift Monday- Friday, 8:00 am -5:00 pm.

As the Clinical Manager, you will oversee the clinical and administrative operations of our Gastroenterology outpatient offices, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and operational efficiency. Work Location: The ideal will be able to work from any of our GI clinics around Northern Virginia: Fairfax, Fair Oaks, Franconia-Springfield, Lansdowne, Mount Vernon and Oakville.

The Clinical Manager Ambulatory oversees assigned area to ensure it is performing effectively, which may include but not limited to, hiring and training team members, creating and implementing business strategies, managing performance of team members, and delegating tasks. Effectively utilizes standards, guidelines, policies, procedures and clinical pathways for delivery of care. Ensures timely and appropriate patient management through multidisciplinary collaboration. Manages, supervises and facilitates the development of staff while overseeing the day to day tasks/activities in the department.

Job Responsibilities


  • Oversees assigned area to ensure it is performing effectively, which may include but not limited to, hiring and training team members, creating and implementing business strategies, managing performance of team members, and delegating tasks.
  • Anticipates needs of the patients or families and facilitates effective treatment plans.
  • Ensures timely resolution of issues. Works collaboratively with physicians, nursing, therapy and other members of the interdisciplinary team to effect timely and appropriate patient management.
  • Analyzes patient outcomes and program trends through an inter-disciplinary approach. Participates in monthly reporting of trends and outcomes that identify patient/client populations at program meetings and management operational meetings.
  • Manages, supervises and facilitates the development of staff and oversees the day-to-day tasks/activities in the department. Participates in the interviewing/hiring process by reviewing job profiles, candidate applications and resumes, developing behavioral interview questions, conducting and evaluating interviews in a timely fashion and providing feedback/recommendation in hiring decision. Acknowledges and provides reward/recognition to staff and/or team members.
  • Develops and implements educational materials and methods in support of team member abilities to document appropriately to the patients' level of understanding and motivation, as evidenced by chart review, observation and team feedback.
  • May perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

Certification - Certifications for clinical scope of practice as appropriate for specific program. Specific programs to require certifications based on unique program needs to be obtained within the timeframe designated by the program

Licensure - If BSN, licensed as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Experience - Three years of experience related to the clinical scope; One year of direct supervisor/manager/team lead experience

Education - Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) or MSW or MHA or related Bachelor's Degree or 4 years of experience in lieu of degree

Preferred Qualifications:



  • BSN
  • 3 years of Nursing experience
  • RN License
