Job Purpose

The Parts Regulatory Compliance Department ensures that all AHM service parts comply with applicable domestic and international chemical substance composition and transportation/logistics requirements. The Compliance Analyst position provides support to Parts Operations and Honda Subsidiaries by collecting, analyzing, and reviewing regulatory requirements to ensure Parts Operations and related activities are in compliance with applicable chemical and transportation laws. The Compliance Analyst will be required to work with internal and external subject matter exports to understand the chemical and transportation regulations. Then support Parts Operations compliance with the regulations. The Compliance Analyst has three primary business objectives: Hazmat and Transportation, Service Part Compliance, and Parts, Service, and Technical Division Operational Support

Hazmat and Transportation business objective includes the research and review of laws and regulations on the handling, storage, and transportation of Service Parts goods and related materials. This business objective also includes the advisement on Hazmat and Transportation laws and regulations to management and support groups such as the Parts Centers and Logistics.

Service Parts Compliance business objective includes collecting, maintaining, researching, and reporting on data attributes necessary for the sale, transportation, and storage of service parts within AHM's local region. This business objective also includes the review, analysis, and application of Federal and State laws and requirements that impact the PS&T Division. Then reporting to management on applicability and assisting or leading the implementation plan. And support and communication with suppliers and dealers to ensure specific regulatory compliance.

PS&T Support business object includes general support for ad-hoc requests related to Hazmat and Transportation, Service Part Compliance, or Genpo Support. This object also includes responsibilities assigned by management for specific areas of reporting or compliance including CICS/NPS data reporting, mandatory regulatory or compliance related reporting, and data integrity management.

Key Accountabilities

  • Hazmat and Transportation review and application of laws and regulations to support outbound logistics, provide training support, establish new processes and procedures for ad-hoc activities, analyze, interpret, and apply new and changing requirements for transportation regulations
  • Service Part Compliance activities includes collecting chemical data and ensuring submission of IMDS data through MOCS, performing chemical judgements on collected IMDS data, performing chemical surveys and ensuring supplier responses, collecting country of origin data for service parts, and support and manage parts filtration list
  • PS&T Operations Support activities includes supporting non-chemical data collection from suppliers,
    supporting Parts Centers operations, researching requests from Honda Subsidiaries, supporting Export
    Sales, and supporting ad-hoc compliance requests including review and audit of Parts Operations
    program
  • Special projects as directed by management including new regulatory areas such as recycling and Extended Producer Responsibility

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

  • BA/BS in Business, Law, Chemistry, Engineering or Relevant Subject
  • 3+ years legal experience especially regulatory interpretation or 3+ years shipping and transportation compliance experience or 3+ years chemical or safety compliance
  • 3+ years sales or customer service experience
  • Ability to read legislation and regulation
  • Ability to interpret and communicate regulatory requirement
  • Prepare and present informatio
  • Excellent communication skills - written and oral
  • Self motivated researcher with the drive to master information
  • Detail oriented and organize
  • Ability to work under pressure and short deadline
  • Project management experience preferable

Working Conditions

  • 80% onsite/ 20% remote
  • Limited travel
  • Fast Paced/Dynamic work environment
  • Occasional nights and weekends; some OT will be necessary for projects and deadlines
