CHA Consulting, Inc. is currently seeking a GIS Technician I to join our Corporate - Geospatial Team at a client site in Albany, NY.



YOUR IMPACT

CHA's corporate support teams provide vital specialized services to our technical business lines and market teams including financial, legal, marketing, business development, human resources, information technology and operational services. These teams may also support clients when their skills and expertise are required.

The GIS Technician I is responsible for providing Geographic Information System (GIS) technical services, which includes map design, data creation, and basic spatial analysis and data management for the company's external and internal projects.

REQUIREMENTS

    Bachelor's degree in Geography, GIS certificate, or related degree
  • A minimum of 1 year of relevant GIS experience is required
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access
  • Basic ESRI ArcMap/ArcGIS Pro software skills
  • Basic knowledge of geographically referenced data required (projections, datum, map scales, etc.)
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Smallworld, MapInfo, Google Earth a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures and perform tasks with a high degree of efficiency, accuracy and quality
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to balance details with the big picture
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work independently and as an effective team member
  • Ability to conduct yourself in a professional manner with both internal and external customers


SALARY RANGE:

$23.07 - $27.28

Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
