Job Summary

The Department of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Sciences in the College of Nursing and Health Professions is hiring a temporary lab technician in the laboratory of Dr. Binder-Markey. The lab tech will join an interprofessional team engaged in translational basic health science research. The initial appointment will be for 3 months, with the potential for extension of the position based on performance and availability of resources.

Essential Functions



  • Conduct biochemical assays Analyze data from biochemical assays Conduct histological sample processing, imaging, and analysis. Assist with the training of research personnel.
  • Engage in appropriate training and professional development opportunities, as available.
  • Carry out administrative and management work associated with the program of research.
  • Contribute to the preparation of the final report and manuscripts and presentation of project findings to internal and external parties.
  • Assist with data analysis. Communicate findings, data interpretation and reports to the research team and relevant members of multidisciplinary teams.
  • Assist with grant writing. Search pertinent scientific literature as needed. Other duties as assigned. - (Essential)


Required Qualifications



  • Minimum of Bachelor's Degree in Health-related.

  • * Minimum of 1 year of experience.
    * Ability to work independently, be proactive, and be innovative
    * Willingness to learn and be a collaborative team member.
    * Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
    * Excellent Organizational and planning skills, including ability to prioritize a range of task and meet deadlines.

Additional Information

This is a Full-Time [temporary/per diem/casual] position classified as Non-Exempt. The offered pay is based on the successful candidate's qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
