About the Role
As the Head of Data Management Operations, you will play a pivotal role in designing and managing the foundational data structures that fuel our enterprise analytics, reporting systems, and decision-making processes. Collaborating closely with internal teams and external partners, you'll define data standards, relationships, and ontologies that power our commercial and healthcare insights. You will report directly to the Head of Commercial Data Operations and ensure that our data infrastructure meets the highest standards of quality, governance, and innovation. You will also manage at least 2 direct reports in this role.
What You'll Do
As the Head of Data Management Operations, you will drive the strategy, execution, and continuous improvement of UCB's enterprise data environment. Your key responsibilities include:
* Setting the vision, standards, and governance for data architecture, integration, and analytics platforms.
* Leading cross-functional teams in the design and implementation of scalable data warehouse and ETL solutions.
* Ensuring seamless integration between front-end analytics tools and back-end systems to support commercial and healthcare insights.
* Acting as a thought leader and subject matter expert in data technologies, strategy, and best practices.
* Collaborating across business units and external partners to optimize data efficiency, integrity, and usability.
* Managing the full data lifecycle, including governance, quality, security, and innovation in advanced data technologies.
* Driving platform adoption and aligning initiatives with business objectives for measurable impact.

Minimum Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
* Minimum of 10 years of experience in data management, data governance, or related fields.
* Minimum of 3 years of experience in leadership roles with a track record of managing and developing teams.
Preferred Qualifications
* Master's Degree or higher in a relevant field.
* 15 years of experience in data management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
* Experience with cloud-based data management solutions (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
* Knowledge of big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) and data science methodologies.
* Certification in data management or related areas (e.g., CDMP, DGSP).
* Experience in regulatory compliance and data privacy laws (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
* Proficiency in data management tools and technologies (e.g., SQL, ETL processes, data warehousing solutions).
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
This position's reasonably anticipated salary range is $148,000-194,300 per year. The actual salary offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors.
