JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Mount, align, and secure tooling, attachments and work piece on machine.
* Select and install cutting tools in machine spindle.
* Calculate and set machine controls to position spindle in relationship to work piece and to regulate parameters such as cutting depth, speed, feed and coolant flow.
* Clean machine and tooling.
* Load control media such as tape, card or disk into machine controller and enter commands to retrieve programmed instructions from database.
* Enter commands or manually adjust machine controls to correct malfunctions or out-of-tolerance conditions.
* Measure and verify parts meet specified blueprints, sketches, and/or specifications using various measurement equipment necessary to task.
* Setup and operate numerical control machines or machining centers to perform various functions such as cutting, drilling, milling, reaming, boring, and broadening.
* Perform operations/tasks as specified on router.
* Monitor machines to assure machines function in a safe and efficient manner.
* Maintain housekeeping at and around department. Apply 6s principles to all areas of the plant.
* Wear all personal protective equipment necessary to task and area.
* Perform any other duties deemed necessary by management.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* High school diploma or equivalent.
*Two years college/technical school or three years related experience/training with proven skills preferred.
* Experience with micrometers, calipers, understand coding (M&G), and experience with similar materials
* Good cognitive skills and mechanical aptitude.
* Ability to comprehend routers, blueprints, sketches, diagrams, operating instructions, manuals, specifications, correspondence.
* Problem solving skills, good judgement skills, good communication skills, basic computer skills.
* Ability to work well in a team environment.
