Phoenix Defense is seeking applicants for Field Operations Lead (Aviation) position at Ft. Eustis, VA. This position is in support of the Warfighter-Training Readiness Solutions Program (W-TRS). This position is contingent upon contract award. ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee and manage a team of maintenance personnel, including scheduling, training, and performance evaluation
- Ensure the team of technicians keep accurate records of maintenance activities and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards
- Solve complex maintenance issues by using effective troubleshooting techniques associated with landing gear, hydraulics, engine, auxiliary power unit, powertrain, rotor, flight control, electrical, fuel, airframe, and utility systems
- Work with school operations to ensure aircraft training devices are ready for training, managing material and manpower, and potentially coordinating with other support functions
- Ensure that all aircraft training device maintenance is performed correctly and in accordance with established protocols
- Provide training and guidance to team members, ensuring they are up-to-date on the latest maintenance procedures and safety standards
- Possess excellent, proactive organizational skills in replenishing bench stocks, petroleum products, and hazardous materials (HAZMAT) items to complete hourly/calendar maintenance requirements and aircraft training device services in a timely manner
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- B.A./B.S. plus three years of experience, eight or more years' organizational maintenance supervisor experience in lieu of degree
- In-depth knowledge of aviation training device maintenance, including troubleshooting, repairs, inspections, and mission capable requirements
- Detail oriented, with excellent organizational and task management skills
- Experience with Army Training Aids, Devices, Simulators and Simulations (TADSS).
- Able to communicate concisely and effectively verbally and in email/written communication
PREFERRED SKILLS:
- Possess a high degree of expertise in the control and coordination of aircraft training device maintenance
- Knowledge of general technical fields such as engineering, contracts administration, or program management
