Are you ready to lead the future of food innovation? As a Principal Flavor Scientist at Campbell Soup Company, you will play a pivotal role in driving the success of our snacks product portfolio by leading the development and commercialization of innovative flavor solutions. This role requires a Flavorist with over 10 years of experience who will serve as the voice of R&D in key meetings, build and maintain vendor relationships, and provide expert guidance to our flavor design team.

As a leader in the seasoning and flavor space within R&D, your insights will be instrumental in shaping discussions around innovation opportunities and addressing challenges in Campbell's existing products. What you will do...

In this role, you will lead the development and commercialization of innovative flavor solutions for snacks under tight timelines, ensuring compliance with market and regulatory standards. A deep understanding of Campbell's ingredient commercialization process is essential for success. You will regularly interface with flavor vendors and the procurement team to maximize flavor quality, accelerate commercialization, and deliver business value. As a Principal Flavor Scientist, you will mentor members of the Flavor Design team to enhance their skills and prepare them for future roles. Additionally, you will collaborate with IT to explore and implement technologies that improve Campbell's approach to flavor development. Cross-functional collaboration with Product Developers, Quality Assurance, and Supply Chain teams will also be key to optimizing flavor delivery systems. Finally, you will help establish a Flavor Bank system that consolidates trending flavor ideas for our brands with the insights and data needed to validate their inclusion.

  • Vendor & Procurement Relations:Serve as the primary R&D partner in meetings with seasoning and flavor vendors, as well as Campbell's procurement team.
  • Expert Guidance & Mentorship:Provide expert advice and mentorship to flavor design scientists on flavor creation and development.
  • Flavor Creation:Develop and execute programs to create proprietary seasonings and flavors for the snacks business.
  • Technology Integration:Collaborate with the IT team to identify and implement AI and other advanced technologies to enhance seasoning and flavor performance.
  • Flavor Bank System:Establish a system to efficiently capture and manage new flavor ideas and key insights.
  • Ingredient & Process Optimization:Partner with R&D Process Innovation and Supply Chain teams to optimize flavor delivery systems in our manufacturing plants.

What you bring to the table (must have) ...

  • 10 years of experience in flavor creation and development
  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Chemistry, or a related field

Compensation and Benefits:

The target base salary range for this full-time, salaried position is between

$148,600-$213,700

Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation. In addition, we offer competitive health, dental, 401k and wellness benefits beginning on the first day of employment.
