Position Summary:
Serves as a subject-matter expert with deep knowledge of the core Epic application, related non-Epic products/applications and the supported operational processes. Typically focuses across multiple areas of a broad process within the supported application, most often encompassing significant integrations with related Epic and non-Epic systems. Applies a consultative approach in working across internal teams and external partners to understand and define difficult problems. Within standard protocols, independently manages the design, build/configuration, testing and ongoing support of assigned areas of the Epic application encompassing advanced configurations and/or complex implementations.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Serves as a subject-matter expert, often certified in multiple Epic applications, responsible for complex builds, configurations, and enhancements with broad operational impact.

  • Leads integration efforts between Epic and non-Epic systems, coordinating with vendors and internal teams to ensure seamless functionality.

  • Uses a consultative approach to analyze operational challenges, identify root causes, and design long-term technical and process-based solutions.

  • Manages multi-month projects from inception to implementation, ensuring alignment with business needs and coordinating across multiple departments.

  • Oversees application upgrades, release note reviews, test script updates, and ongoing advanced maintenance tasks.

  • Facilitates cross-team communication, provides user training, presents to leadership, mentors junior team members, and may represent the team at national Epic events.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree is required
  • An Associate's Degree with an additional 2 years of related experience or a high school diploma/GED with an additional 4 years of related experience may substitute for a Bachelor's Degree.

Experience:

  • 3 years of experience directly involved in Epic application support and/or implememtation performing builds in the targeted application(s). Demonstrated experience performing moderately complex builds is required.
  • 5 years EPIC experience is preferred
  • Training systems end-users directly or in providing substantive input to training curriculum or materials is required
  • Experience working directly in the specific domain (operational area) being supported: hospital revenue cycle, patient scheduling, finance/billing, etc. demonstrating an understanding of the unique challenges of the groups supported is preferred
  • Experience as a super-user of an Electronic Health Records systems generally, if not Epic specifically.

Certifications:

  • Epic certification in Grand Central is required
  • Epic certification in second CORE application, EPIC Prelude, is to be obtained within one year of entry into the role.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt is preferred
  • Epic Certification in RTE is preferred
