Space Force MUOS DSP Software Engineer

Position Overview:
Join a mission-driven team developing and enhancing software for the
Mobile User Objective System (MUOS)-a secure communications platform used by Space Force and military personnel around the world. As a
Digital Signal Processing (DSP) Software Engineer, you'll help improve and support a system that delivers secure, reliable, cellular-like communications-even in the most extreme environments such as arctic regions, dense urban terrain, and remote jungles.
This is a
hybrid contract-to-hire opportunity to work on a program that makes a real impact for the warfighter.
Key Responsibilities:

Design, implement, and test DSP algorithms and communication systems components. -
Develop software in
C/C++,
MATLAB,
Python, or related languages. -
Work with
Linux systems to configure and optimize performance for DSP applications. -
Analyze, simulate, and process real-world communication signals. -
Collaborate with systems, test, and hardware engineering teams to integrate and validate DSP software. -
Perform measurements and validation using tools like
spectrum analyzers and
USRP hardware. -
Contribute to architectural decisions, documentation, and system tuning.

Required Skills:
- Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering or Science or Engineering or Mathematics.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Signals and Systems, FFTs, FIR filters, convolution, correlation
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Communications or modem design and development
- Minimum 5 years of experience in C/C++ and MATLAB, NumPy, Python, Gnu Radio, or X-MIDAS
- Minimum 5 years of experience with High-performance computing
- Minimum 5 years of experience in high-speed (100G+) networking, switch setup, selecting switch, NIC, and transceiver components
- Minimum 5 years of experience in IP networking, DPDK, and MPI
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Linux system administration, server set up and tuning for DSP
- Minimum 5 years of experience with USRP hardware
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Spectrum analyzer measurements.
Preferred Skills:
- Master's Degree
- Agile experience.
- Expertise in applying technical standards and methodologies to solve challenges in creative ways
