AESC's Tennessee gigafactory in Smyrna, which has been operational and supplying electric vehicle batteries for the Nissan LEAF since 2012, was retooled in 2025 and now produces batteries for Energy Storage Systems. The South Carolina gigafactory in Florence will supply next generation cells for BMW starting in 2026. The Kentucky gigafactory in Bowling Green will supply high-performance batteries and components for other OEMs. AESC is committed to our local communities where it is making investments, creating jobs, and supporting local charities.

About the Role

The PMO Leader for Energy Storage Systems will oversee ESS projects, setting the standard for project management processes and leading a team of Project Managers. This role plays a very important role in growing our ESS business for the US.

What You Will Do
  • Develop a comprehensive lifecycle management system for energy storage projects, optimizing project management processes and standards
  • Coordinate the annual project delivery goals of the team, formulate resource allocation and risk response strategies
  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of large-scale energy storage system projects, coordinating resources from R&D, procurement, engineering, and other departments, monitoring key indicators such as project progress, cost, and quality to ensure customer project delivery
  • Assist sales in addressing customer project requirements, organizing the team to prepare documentation for customer audits
  • Build and manage the customer project management team, conducting team assessments and talent development
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
What You Need
  • Bachelor's degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Energy Management, Project Management, or related field
  • Over 10 years of experience in the new energy/power industry, with more than 5 years of experience managing energy storage/BESS project management teams in North America
  • Experience in the development or delivery of large-scale energy storage batteries, storage containers, or energy storage system projects
  • Proficient in project management methodologies, skilled in using related tools
  • Familiar with key equipment in energy storage systems (PCS, batteries, BMS) and supply chain management (supplier negotiation, cost control)
  • Strong communication, organization, and coordination skills, good analytical skills, and strong logical thinking ability
  • English as a working language
  • Understands and follows all standards of IATF16949 and VDA 6.3 quality standards. (training and awareness will be provided for those who are not familiar with these standards)
  • Understands and follows all standards of ISO14001 environmental standards. (training and awareness will be provided for those who are not familiar with these standards)
