Overview
TISTA Science and Technology Corporation is looking for a Unix Administrator for a 2-month engagement, with the possibility of expanding to other projects. You'll be responsible for developing IA solutions, managing UNIX and Linux systems, and supporting Disaster Recovery on mission-critical systems. Responsibilities
- Develop and document standards and guides for the implementation of IA solutions including compliance, system security design, security testing and IA assessments.
- Recommend management, operational, or technical controls to mitigate risks associated with detected vulnerabilities that could preclude accreditation
- This includes human procedures, software configuration parameters, system changes, or combination thereof.
- Provide and administer UNIX and Linux NIPRnet and SIPRnet Operating Systems to ensure effective day-to-day operations and resolve issues as they occur.
- Perform assessment, implementations, integration, configuration, device policy, event analysis, training, documentation and provide subject matter expert support to Government in accomplishing the same.
- implement required software to meet IA controls working with the DLA CERT and support Technology Foundation Services architecture throughout the lifecycle.
- Support Disaster Recovery and COOP on mission critical systems.
- Install and maintain COTS products including but not limited to: McAfee, HBSS, TripWire, ArcSight, and others.
- Remotely provide systems management and technical troubleshooting for UNIX SIPRnet/NIPRnet systems.
- Perform customer support functions. Review, coordinate, and recommend IA standards and protocols.
- Perform analysis and validate and recommend security requirements including RMF.
Qualifications
- Experienced UNIX Senior Systems Administrator.
- Minimum 4 years UNIX Administration experience.
- Expertise in specialized information processing disciplines involving a range of hardware/software solutions systems administration.
- Information technology support activities for Oracle/Sun, Solaris, HP-UX, and Red Hat Linux operating systems on the Defense Logistics Agency's (DLA's) Enterprise Infrastructure.
- Experience in Test/Development, Staging, Continuity of Operations (COOP) and Production environments.
- At least 3 years concentrated hands-on experience installing, configuring, maintaining, and resolving issues with various software.

Certifications:
- IAT-II required
- Security + CE
- Computing Environment Certification, one or more of the following: SCSA (Solaris), HPCSA (HPUX), RHCSA (Red Hat), Linux+ (Generic linux)
Work Location Onsite:
- DLA Richmond, VA.
- Dayton, Ohio.
- Columbus, Ohio.
- Telework up to 4 days per week depending on the needs of the client.
Clearance
- Must possess an active Secret personnel security clearance in good standing with eligibility for IT-I privileged access.
- Requires a current T5 (SSBI/SBPR) level background investigation.
