About the Role
Bounce Imaging is seeking a Test Engineer to play a critical role in ensuring the quality, functionality, and reliability of our advanced 360 tactical camera systems. This position will focus on designing and implementing comprehensive testing protocols for our custom PCBs, electronic modules, and mechanical systems to ensure that our products meet the highest performance and durability standards.
The ideal candidate will have experience in hardware and software testing, including mechanical, electrical, and software validation. They will be responsible for creating and executing test plans, designing test cases, automating test processes, and analyzing results to drive continuous product improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Test Design & Implementation:
  • Design and implement comprehensive test plans to validate the functionality and performance of custom PCBs, electronic modules, and advanced camera systems.
  • Develop test strategies, test cases, and testing processes for mechanical and electrical systems to ensure product reliability.
  • Conduct functional, stress, and durability testing for both individual components and complete camera systems.
  • Identify potential design and manufacturing defects early in the production process to minimize field failures.
Hardware & Software Testing:
  • Perform electrical and mechanical validation tests to ensure system integrity and performance under various conditions.
  • Oversee hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing for embedded systems, ensuring software interacts correctly with hardware.
  • Design and execute automated test scripts to streamline product validation and improve testing efficiency.
  • Validate firmware and software functionality, ensuring seamless integration with hardware components.
  • Work closely with the engineering team to identify root causes of failures and contribute to design improvements.
Field Testing & Quality Assurance:
  • Lead field testing efforts to validate the real-world performance of cameras coming off the production line.
  • Design scientifically sound field tests to ensure that marketing claims around range, features, and durability are validated across various conditions, environments, building structures, and weather conditions.
  • Conduct structured tests in operational environments to assess camera performance in law enforcement, military, and tactical applications.
  • Collect, analyze, and report field data to improve product quality and inform engineering and manufacturing teams of potential improvements.
  • Ensure rigorous documentation of test results to support continuous product enhancement and compliance with industry standards.
Process & Quality Assurance:
  • Develop and document standardized testing protocols for use across the production and R&D teams.
  • Oversee the entire testing process, from initial test plan creation to final product sign-off.
  • Analyze test results and provide actionable insights to improve product performance and reliability.
  • Collaborate with the manufacturing and engineering teams to refine testing methodologies and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
