Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced professional to join our Rail Bureau at the Vermont Agency of Transportation (VTrans). This role involves administrative, technical, and supervisory responsibilities related to the management, leasing, acquisition, and disposition of state-owned rail properties. Key Responsibilities:
Preferred qualifications include experience in railroad property management and operations; knowledge of real estate concepts, leasing, rentals, and property enforcement; and familiarity with title searching and municipal functions. Proficiency in computer data entry, electronic filing systems, and interpreting survey plots and engineering designs is also desirable. A real estate license is helpful but not required. This position, AOT Property Management Specialist (Job Requisition #52795), is open to all State employees and external applicants. Environmental Factors
Work is generally performed in both office and field settings and involves significant interaction with property owners and local officials. Assignments will require travel throughout the State. Field inspections will entail extensive walking or hiking on rough, uneven or wooded terrains, rail roadbeds and climbing up and down embankments during all weather conditions. Some evening or overtime work may be anticipated. Private means of transportation is required. Property negotiations may evoke strong adversarial opinions. Minimum Qualifications
Two (2) or more years of experience in real estate, property management, land use or transportation planning, or related field. Preferred Qualifications
Associate's degree or higher in business, engineering, or related field. Special Requirements
