Job Description

Danfoss in Van Wert, Oh is hiring for an engineer technician. The engineering technician supports the Value Stream goals and objectives through effective use of lean principles and continuous improvement activities.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following.



  • Support production equipment, working with Process Techs to fix and improve existing equipment. (Inspection Camera, Date Code Printers, Tooling, Robots, etc.)
  • Lead teams to proactively reduce process variation using 8D, Six Sigma and other problem-solving tools
  • Create and update process documentation including FMEA, control plan, job instructions
  • Ensure that proper additional documentation is in place for production as necessary
  • Support the timely resolution of customer quality concerns
  • Coordinate tooling design changes including print maintenance and trials of new/altered tools
  • Implement lean initiatives.Implement 5S initiatives.

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Demonstrated technical ability, proven communication skills (verbal & written), able to plan and organize effectively, self-motivated, dependable.
  • Competent in the creation of FMEA, Control Plans, Job Instructions, 8D's
  • Competent user of multiple PC software programs, including Word, MFG/PRO, Excel, CAD, etc.
  • Capable of reading and creating prints.
  • Experience with turning, drilling, and milling machining processes
  • Preferred associate's degree in a mechanical discipline or actively pursuing an associate's degree with the desire to continue to earn a bachelor's degree and to continue to grow into an Engineering role
