Overview

DecisionPoint is seeking a strategic, analytical, and experienced Director of Pricing to lead pricing strategy, development, and execution for all federal contract proposals. Reporting to the CGO, this individual will be responsible for ensuring competitive, compliant, and financially sound pricing responses across a variety of government contracting vehicles. This position will play a pivotal role in supporting the full lifecycle of proposal development-from pre-RFP pricing strategy to post-award pricing support-collaborating closely with capture managers, proposal developers, finance, operations, and executive leadership. The ideal candidate will have deep experience with complex federal pricing models, advanced cost modeling skills, and the ability to synthesize competitive intelligence into actionable Price-to-Win (PTW) recommendations.

This position is on a hybrid telecommute model with at least 2 days a week on-site required in Reston, VA.



Duties & Responsibilities

Pricing Strategy & Development

    Lead development of compliant and competitive cost and price proposals across all contract types (FFP, T&M, CPFF, CPAF, CPIF, IDIQ, BPA, LH).
  • Create and manage detailed pricing models using inputs from solution teams, salary databases, HR census data, and market benchmarks.
  • Conduct competitive pricing analysis and develop PTW models utilizing customer budget data, historical pricing, labor profiles, and industry benchmarks.
  • Recommend and implement pricing strategies aligned with capture objectives to increase win probability.

Proposal Support & Compliance

  • Analyze solicitation documents (RFP, RFQ, etc.) for pricing and business risk, compliance, and opportunity.
  • Lead pricing volume development, including narratives and cost structures, ensuring full compliance with solicitation requirements.
  • Prepare and deliver executive-level pricing briefings highlighting strategy, evaluation criteria, and financial metrics.
  • Collaborate with proposal teams to develop Basis of Estimate (BOE), Bill of Materials (BOM), and subcontractor pricing inputs.

Team Collaboration & Leadership

  • Coordinate closely with capture, proposal, finance, and operations teams to ensure pricing integrates with technical and management volumes.
  • Lead price reviews and strategy sessions with executive leadership and growth teams.
  • Train and mentor staff on pricing processes, models, and best practices.

Process Optimization & Support

  • Develop and maintain pricing templates, tools, and repeatable processes that support scaling and standardization of proposal pricing efforts.
  • Support pricing input for resource planning, bid prioritization, and opportunity evaluation.
  • Post-award, provide operational teams with insight into pricing models to ensure alignment during transition and execution.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, Mathematics, or related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant pricing experience, including 8 years in federal government contracting.
  • Demonstrated expertise in developing and executing pricing strategies across diverse contract vehicles.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple, concurrent pricing efforts in a fast-paced environment.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Superior Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills.
  • Strong analytical, writing, and communication abilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of federal acquisition regulations and proposal development processes.
  • Experience negotiating and managing subcontractor pricing and documentation (NDAs, TAs, SOWs).
  • Collaborative and team-oriented mindset with high attention to detail and quality standards.
