Supervises: N/A

Summary Statement: Under the supervision of the Plant Manager, the employee in this position hand cuts specified fabric based on cutting design requirements following all established work and safety procedures.

Essential Job Functions

• Verify electric hand knife blade is sharpened and operating correctly, reporting any problems to the Plant Manager.
• Using an electric hand knife, recut parts per specifications provided, checking to make sure recut meets quality standards.
• Maintain an accurate log of recuts by product lines recording:
  
  
  
  • Date of the recut
  • Part that was recut, including the number recut
  
  
  
  
• Maintain scrap boxes by product line, keeping a log of materials not used.
• Return recut fabric to the Supervisor or Production Assistant for the particular product line.

Marginal Job Functions

• Assist other personnel as time and knowledge permit.
• Participate in training and meetings as requested.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions

• Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
• Must be able to work 10-hour shifts.
• Must be able to work both planned and unplanned overtime.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

• Must be able to comprehend and perform duties using established work and safety procedures.
• Must be able to read, write and perform basic math functions (add/subtract).
• Must be able to perform effectively under conditions of fluctuating workloads.
• Must have the ability to safely operate an electric hand knife.
• Must be detail oriented.

Education and Work Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Prior cutting experience preferred
