Overview: Connection has a fantastic opportunity through our Technical Staffing division for a Sr. Cisco Network Engineer to support ongoing infrastructure projects for a fast-paced, enterprise environment. This is a hands-on role requiring a self-starter with a high level of professionalism and maturity. The ideal candidate will bring strong experience with Cisco networking hardware and a proactive approach to problem-solving. This is a Remote position.
Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support multiple network infrastructure projects across core and edge environments.
  • Deploy and manage Cisco Catalyst and Catalyst 9200 (edge) switches.
  • Assist in the rollout of Cisco Meraki APs and other wireless solutions.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting and configuration across routing, switching, firewalls, and VPN technologies.
  • Upgrade or replace end-of-life (EOL) infrastructure including switches, routers, and firewalls (e.g., ASA to Firepower).
  • Design, implement, and secure site-to-site and remote VPNs (e.g., IKEv2, VTI, DMVPN).
  • Collaborate with teams to integrate Azure cloud networking (VNETs, NSGs, VPN gateways, peering).
  • Manage and optimize network security posture with tools like Cisco ISE, Firepower, Panorama, and Cloudflare.
  • Monitor and manage the performance of F5 LTM/APM/ASM and other ADCs.
  • Provide detailed documentation and act as a subject matter expert on project reviews and escalations.

Requirements:

  • 7–10+ years of experience in enterprise network engineering.
  • Strong expertise in Cisco Catalyst switching, Cisco ASA/Firepower, and Cisco ISE.
  • Certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, Azure Network Engineer (AZ-700), Azure Administrator (AZ-104).
  • Proven experience with Meraki deployments, Azure networking, and Palo Alto firewalls.
  • Proficient in BGP, EIGRP, VxLAN, and advanced routing protocols.
  • Familiarity with F5 products (LTM/APM/ASM), Cloudflare DNS and security services.
  • Experience managing networks in high-availability, multi-site, and data center environments.
  • Solid knowledge of layer 2/3 networking, segmentation, VLANs, and wireless security.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
  • Comfortable working independently in a remote setting.
