SUMMARY Mortenson is currently seeking a Bricklayer Journeyman that will be responsible for laying block, brick, or stone to construct or repair walls, partitions and other structures. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Handle bags of sand, grout, lime, and cement
- Transport and distribute masonry throughout the jobsite
- Erect and dismantle scaffolding
- Clean work area and restock supplies and materials
- Spread mortar for base and binder; apply mortar and set block, brick, or stone
- Level, align, and embed block, brick, or stone; remove excess mortar and finish seams
- Break block, brick, or stone to fit smaller areas; determine alignment using plumb-bob, gauge line, and level
- Provide leadership, display resourcefulness, and build relationships with diverse team members
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum two (2) years of related experience
- Ability to read and interpret documents (safety regulations, operation and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals), work independently or under broad assignments, and follow standard instructions
- Strong teamwork orientation, positive attitude, professional customer service skills, detail orientation, and effective communication including active listening and openness to diverse input and feedback
- Repetitive hand, arm, leg movements
- *Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling: up to 50 lbs.
