Hourly Pay Range:

$32.60 - $48.90 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Summary:

The Major Gifts Manager is responsible for cultivating relationships with major donors and prospective major donors and generating philanthropic gifts for the Foundation.This position reports to the Elmhurst Memorial Hospital Foundation Executive Director and works closely with the Foundation Board of Trustees and appropriate committees as assigned.

What you will do:

  • Develops major gift strategies based on Foundation annual and special fundraising goals and maintains accountability for their timely execution.
  • Works closely with foundation and operational colleagues and volunteers to identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit and steward restricted and unrestricted major gifts - proactively advancing a robust moves management program.
  • Executes timely and effective cultivation and solicitation activity to secure major and planned gifts from individuals, corporations and foundations - with a strong focus on face-to-face interactions.
  • Embraces discovering new potential major gift donors independently and in collaboration with physician partners, volunteers, and other foundation team members. Provides robust support to physicians and volunteers to optimize grateful patient fundraising and peer solicitation.
  • Records accurate and current documentation on all touches and moves for assigned prospects and donors in the Foundation's donor database.
  • Drafts prospect profiles, proposals, request scripts, gifts agreements, and other materials as needed.
  • Coordinates outreach related to Foundation philanthropic initiatives.
  • Maintains professional client/employee/vendor relationships with a strong commitment to client service.
  • Reaches for ambitious metrics and goals and is adept at deploying data and analytics to prioritize donors and prospects and tailor personalized approaches.

What you will need:

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree required
  • Experience: Minimum five years of progressive experience in major gift fundraising. Working knowledge of blended gifts, including planned giving options. Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with demonstrated ability to create, implement and monitor complex annual and special project fundraising plans. Demonstrated capacity to develop and nurture relationships culminating in major gift fundraising success
