Hourly Pay Range:

$18.84 - $27.32 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights:

  • Position: Rehab Technician - Acute Rehab Unit - Days
  • Location: Northwest Community Hospital - Arlington Heights, IL
  • Full time/Part time: Full Time, 40 hours/week
  • Hours: 8:00am - 4:30pm (Monday - Friday) One Saturday per month Required (when a Saturday is worked, a day during the week will be given off)
  • Required Travel: No

What you will do:

  • Assists therapist with patient set-up prior to treatment and with equipment removal following treatment. Provides support and assistance in various patient treatment activities
  • Communicates treatment effects and changes in patient condition to the therapist
  • Maintains department equipment, supplies and accessories. Cleans all equipment, maintains logs and checks equipment condition. Performs inventory control of departmental supplies and equipment.
  • Performs various clerical tasks which may include: filing medical records and patient documentation, retrieving medical records for HIM/EHS/PFS and copying records for requesting departments. Copies and faxes documentation to physicians and maintains log book. Prepares folders for therapy staff and envelopes for mailing and departmental correspondence.
  • Orders and maintains linen supplies, changes linens as needed and removes linen bags at end of day and/or as needed.
  • Coordinates therapists' daily caseloads and schedules as appropriate
  • Sets up needed equipment and supplies for videofluoroscopic swallow studies. May also assist with feeding under direct supervision of a Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Assists radiology technologist in transferring patients on and off of specialized chair for videofluoroscopic swallow studies. Follows radiation safety guidelines while in the radiology department.
  • Assists in set-up and cleaning of FEES
  • Utilizes correct body mechanics. Adheres to hospital and departmental safety precautions and infection control procedures in order to maintain a safe patient care and working environment. Attends all mandatory in-services.
  • Transports patients to and from the therapy treatment areas.
  • Adheres to all Endeavor Health standards, policies and procedures.

What you will need:

  • The level of knowledge normally obtained through the completion of four years of high school, or the equivalent.
  • American Heart Association BLS CPR certification
