Job Description

Rockwell Automation is looking to add an Environmental/Health/Safety and Facilities Technician at our Long Island, NY facility. You will work to create a safe environment for our associates, contractors, and visitors. You will primarily focus on safety and environmental work, but also work on maintenance of equipment and manage third party contractors. You will report to the Site Lead. You will work onsite from our East Setauket, NY location.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Review and update safety procedures and documentation
  • Oversee Contractor Safety Management
  • Conduct basic risk assessments, safety audits and site inspections
  • Support emergency response teams and systems including documentation and periodic emergency response drills
  • Ensure compliance with waste stream management requirements
  • Provide environmental data (energy, waste, water) as feasible to corporate in timely manner to drive continual improvement.
  • Participate in government agencies' field visits for the purpose of understanding the applicable EHS regulations and to ensure compliance
  • Support Management of Change, Incident and Metrics tracking
  • Assist in maintaining asset service and maintenance databases
  • Maintenance of safety and facilities equipment.
  • Light mechanical work, installing cabinets assembling equipment/guarding etc. Minor facility repairs
  • Support leadership in maintaining ongoing environmental management system and ISO 14001 certification
  • Support leadership in maintaining ongoing safety management system and OHSAS 18001 certification
The Essentials - You Will Have:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
The Preferred - You Might Also Have:
  • 2+ years of EHS Experience
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Work Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and competing priorities
  • Analytical with the capability to clearly summarize and communicate results
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels and functions of the organization
  • Impeccable sense of integrity and business ethics
  • Willingness to challenge status quo in order to enhance productivity, processes and procedures
  • Supportive of change management
  • Successful at transferring skills and knowledge to team

For this role, the Base Salary Compensation is from $71,920 - $107,880 with an annual target bonus of 5% of base salary. Our benefits for the US can be found here. Actual pay will be based on factors such as skills, knowledge, education, and experience.
