Position: Medical Records Specialist
Wage Range: $21.00-22.50 an hour, depending on experience
Service Area: Lifespark Corporate Office, St. Louis Park 55446
Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am-5:00pm (with a minimum of 1 holiday rotation required), (hybrid schedule, after training)

The Medical Records Specialist is primarily responsible for coordinating the day to day workflow of the medical records department in Home Health through HCHB tasks and order management with direction from the Administrator or designee. This will include successful management of quality & compliance, the Lifespark Experience and medical records.
Position Functions & Responsibilities:
- Coordination of medical records for team
- Works the Medical records queue daily and completes all tasks timely
- Keeps orders coming in timely per regulation and works with clinic contacts to receive orders timely.
- Able to answer phones with appropriate customer service and helps resolve issues or concerns of caller.
- Assists with printing chart components as needed.
- Coordination with clinicians and billing manager to assure accurate & timely authorizations, orders or paperwork is completed for billing.

- Seek input from team for improved processes, creating a team environment, and overcoming any obstacles
- Seek and share opportunities where technology can improve business process and overall efficiencies
- Provide team coverage to other departments as needed
- Ensure policies, procedures, and best practices are implemented
- Accepts unique client symptoms and behaviors
- Follow-up Required - Escalating Event
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- One to Three years (1-3) of experience in medical records or customer service preferred.
- At least 18 years of age and is a high school graduate or equivalent
- Verification of COVID vaccine status or receiving an approved exemption.
