Position Purpose
Manages student activity programs and services, and coordinates office operations and administration for the MBA Program Office ( MBAPO) according to Tuck's mission, strategy, and institutional priorities.

Required Qualifications - Education and Yrs Exp Bachelors or equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Qualifications - Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

  1. Experience and skill successfully managing and planning logistically complex events and programs.
  2. Excellent written and oral communication skills, project management skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail; ability to format high-quality newsletters and email announcements.
  3. Knowledge of higher education administration or professional service business operations gained through a liberal arts education and/or relevant work experience.
  4. High degree of discretion in handling confidential materials.
  5. Strong facility with computer applications (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and databases)
  6. Commitment to working as a part of a team in a dynamic and high touch service environment.
  7. Ability to work occasional evening and weekend hours to support events.
  8. Able to support, contribute to, and strengthen a vibrant, culturally diverse, and inclusive learning community of students, alumni, faculty, and fellow professionals.
  9. Able to anticipate, deliver on, and exceed the expectations of students, affiliated faculty, visiting executives, and professional staff colleagues.
  10. Able to introduce and drive innovation in ways small and large.
  11. Able to collaborate with others as primary means to achieve results.
  12. Able to seek out and create learning opportunities, including through those revealed by setbacks and failures as well as successes.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Experience working in a student facing role in an academic environment
  2. Experience recruiting and managing volunteers or students.

Key Accountabilities


Description
1. Student Activities and MBA Program Management:

  • Partner with MBA Program Office (MBAPO) team members in planning and executing logistical plans for welcoming in the new class at Tuck and ensuring a welcoming and pleasant first interaction for their arrival to campus. (10%)
  • Manage the housing process for Sachem Housing, coordinating with the Sachem Rental Manager and maintaining waitlists as applicable. (5%)
  • Implement the Outdoor Trips pre-term program for incoming students. This includes working with Dartmouth Outdoor Programs to review proposed programming, ensuring programming is adequate for MBA students, and presenting proposals to MBA leadership. (5%)
  • Supports 70 student clubs on all aspects of their social event planning, including submitting work orders to the Facilities Office, submitting AV orders, and providing other advice and support to student club leaders to ensure the success of their events. (10%)
  • Supports MBA Program leadership in the planning and execution of Tuck Launch and Investiture. (10%)
  • Processes student reimbursements with guidance from MBA Program Office leadership. (5%)
  • Co-manage MBAPO office email account and triage as needed. (5%)

2. MBA Program Office Support:
  • As a member of the MBAPO team, provide a high-level of administrative support for campus-wide events and a variety of other administrative projects and tasks, which may include the following: general office support; addressing and resolving walk-in or telephone inquiries from students, staff, and faculty; and other projects as assigned.
