Job Location: Rockledge, FL

3rd shift position

Scope:

Produce product by operating various types of machines in compliance with Health Safety and Environmental (HSE) Programs and quality assurance systems to support the achievement of the sites goals and business objectives. Starting, stopping, adjusting line speed and inspecting for defects. Monitoring equipment, recording production and scrap.

Essential Functions

* Perform duties to set up and operate MPE CTL Dept. equipment within production goals and standard set up times.
* Perform duties associated with manually sorting MPE tubing.
* Ensure specifications are met by changing and set prescribed tooling to suit tubing size and set arc and pressure, making continued adjustments to meet material variations
* Proficient use of equipment required by job function
* Change and adjust blades as required.
* Use jib crane or overhead crane to position coil on pay off.
* Use of electric pallet jacks to maneuver spools.
* Set up and operate cutting equipment, clamping jaws and guards and set stops.
* Set speed and feed to suit product requirements.
* Position tubing in guide and cut and check first piece.
* Obtain first piece approval prior to completing lot run.
* Work to production orders, packing specifications and instruction.
* Select proper material for packing based on product specifications and packing requirements.
* Prepare packaging materials. Pre-make boxes and stock bins with filler, pre-cut paper, prep tote/pallet etc.
* Check work at prescribed intervals and record data on check sheets.
* Ability to follow containment procedures and report serious defects or equipment problems to team leader.
* Maintain equipment by cleaning, oiling and removing chips and scraps as indicated.

Your qualifications and skills

* Ability to exercise judgement within limitation of standard methods and procedure.
* Ability to handle basic math
* Ability to read and interpret simple reference material such as printed instructions and blueprints.
* Ability to operate a jib crane, overhead crane, and electric pallet jacks.
* Proficient use of measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers and fix gauges where interpretation is required.
* Good written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
* Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
* Knowledge of process related standards.
* Proven ability to develop successful partnerships with internal and external team members

You would also ideally have

Proficient in shop mathematics and layout techniques
* Previous experience working in a heavy industrial and or manufacturing environment
* Certified Production Technician
* LEAN manufacturing principles
* Knowledge of HSE regulations
* Intermediate or better Microsoft excel skills
* Ability to think critically and theoretically
