Title: Program Assistant (American sign language Must)

Duration: 1 Month

Working Hours: 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. - lunch period: 1 Hour (Unpaid)

Pay rate: 32.50 /hr w2


Job Description:

  • Support the professional development of American Sign Language (ASL) Deaf Language.
  • Associates (DLA) by providing guidance, experience, and fostering community connections.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day functioning and administration of ASL DLAs.
  • Assist in developing and refinement of the program schedule, implementation of standard practices, and enforcement of communication protocols during business hours.
  • Conduct reviews of weekly reports, providing feedback and offering guidance on alternative strategies for the ASL DLAs to support children's targeted language goals.
  • Assist in the assessment of matching children with ASL DLAs.
  • Facilitate the scheduling and coordination of meetings between ASL DLAs and the Program Coordinator.
  • Ensure the seamless execution and coordination of program objectives.
  • Manage inquiries and email correspondence on regular basis.
  • Collaborate in scheduling and preparing agendas and materials for team meetings.
  • Design engaging activities and processes, to assist ASL DLAs in facilitating language acquisition.
  • Develop general resource guides and educational materials for ASL DLAs, families, and the educational team.
  • Offer regular coaching and support to ASL DLAs.
  • Compile and maintain a list of educational resources and language-focused activities for ASL DLAs, families, and the educational team.
  • Provide suggestions for visual aids in educational and home settings to enhance language learning.
  • Provide ongoing support and maintain program continuity in the absence of the coordinator.
  • Collaborate with and maintain positive relationships with invested partners and vendors.
  • Assist in the onboarding of new ASL DLAs.
  • Assist in the coordination of parent support group.


Required Skills:

  • Fluency in American sign language (ASL) and a strong understanding of Deaf culture.
  • Demonstrated experience working with children.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse environment.
  • Transportation required for travel to various locations.
