Position Summary
The Maxwell Museum Summer Camp Counselor will be responsible for assisting with the Children's Summer Camp program for one week from June 23-27. Under the supervision of the Curator of Education and Summer Camp Instructors, the Summer Camp Counselor will help to foster a dynamic and engaging learning environment. The successful candidate must be willing to share his or her love of human history and culture with the youth of our community.
Duties shall be as follows:
- Assistance
with the supervision of summer campers - Responsible
for coordinating group in all program areas which includes the Maxwell Museum, Hibben Center and other campus locations - Responsible
for setting and maintaining a positive group dynamic that encourages a fun learning experience for all - Assistance
with facilitation of camp activities such as: - Hands-on
activities and experiments - Educational
lessons - Art
projects - Outdoor
games - Responsible
for materials and supplies including a collection of anthropological teaching resources - Other
duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications
Qualifications:
- experience working with children in an educational setting
- knowledge of anthropology, archaeology, and human origins a plus
- enthusiasm for public education and a strong work ethic
- must work well as a team teacher in a group setting
- must be responsible, reliable and well organized
- must complete and pass a criminal background check
