Overview
Support the daily service demands of the department or function. May include some or all of the below essential functions. Process requests of low complexity within an assigned letter of authority. Perform clerical/administrative duties in a timely and accurate fashion. All job duties and responsibilities must be carried out in compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Review and process basic proof of coverage requests from policyholders, agents, and other internal/external partners as assigned within established time frames.
- Provide guidance to agents and other departments regarding various underwriting process information. Effectively communicate with agents and exceed agent expectations while providing service quality on a consistent basis.
- Perform ongoing support functions for assigned area including back-up or over-flow duties. Gather/review supplemental applications, driver's lists, or request underwriting information.
- Review, process, or assist in the processing of low complexity renewal policies, endorsements, cancellations, reinstatements, and the sending of correspondence within specific underwriting authority. Refer all outside of authority to the appropriate level.
- Utilize PC to enter and verify data necessary to complete transactions. Review and process error corrections and/or corrective actions within the system to resolve failed premium transactions and ensure proper coding of policy data.
- May process cancel/rewrite requests for underwriters as assigned within established service standards.
- File, locate, pull and classify a variety of different materials. Pulls files for audits upon request. Process file purges per retention guidelines. Assemble and arrange policies, documents, manuals, presentations, and/or printed materials.
- May assist in marketing efforts through mail, email, or outbound calling efforts or other items pertaining to current business initiatives.
- May prepare legal notices ensuring information is accurate and all appropriate documents are provided.
- Perform other clerical/administrative duties in support of department or function as assigned.
Qualifications
Knowledge and Requirements
- Basic Computer Skills: Microsoft Office Suite. Strong verbal and written communications skills. Ability to quickly adapt to changes or additional tasks assigned. Results oriented with strong customer service skills. Ability to be flexible and handle multiple demands and shifting priorities. Collaborate effectively with others to achieve goals. Demonstrate attention to detail.
Education and Experience
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 1 year Commercial Lines experience
- 2+ years general office work including experience in prioritizing work and meeting deadlines.

The actual base salary is based on geographic location, and the range is representative of salaries for this role throughout Selective's footprint. Additional considerations include relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, performance, and business needs.
Pay Range
USD $38,000.00 - USD $52,000.00 /Yr.
