Role Summary

We are looking for a strategic and analytically driven Supplier Finance Risk Lead to join Rivian's Treasury team. In this high-impact role, you will lead financial risk assessments of our suppliers, evaluate distressed suppliers, support restructuring negotiations, and collaborate cross-functionally to safeguard our supply chain. This role is instrumental in protecting Rivian's operations through sound financial due diligence and proactive supplier engagement.

Why This Role Matters:
  • Mitigate Supply Chain Risk: Lead financial risk scoring and scenario analysis to identify and support distressed suppliers.
  • Drive Strategic Negotiations: Evaluate support options and lead negotiations with banking partners and suppliers.
  • Inform Leadership Decisions: Provide senior leadership with insights and recommendations on supplier support strategies.
  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work closely with Purchasing, Supply Chain, Legal, and Accounting to ensure end-to-end risk mitigation.
  • Enable Operational Resilience: Help ensure continuity in manufacturing and delivery by supporting financially at-risk suppliers.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and manage a supplier financial risk assessment framework and scoring model during onboarding and periodic review.
  • Perform short- and long-term cash flow analyses of distressed suppliers to evaluate the need for financial support.
  • Conduct valuation analysis to support M&A, restructuring, or investment decisions.
  • Draft and negotiate term sheets and accommodation agreements with distressed suppliers and financial institutions.
  • Conduct scenario analysis and recommend support strategies to internal stakeholders and senior leadership.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to monitor and manage supplier-related financial risks.
  • Maintain documentation, reporting, and follow-up actions for supplier financial health assessments.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in financial modeling, valuation, restructuring, or deal negotiation.
  • Strong proficiency in financial analysis and forecasting.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple high-priority tasks.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively at all organizational levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Background in operations or supply chain, particularly in the automotive industry.
  • Experience in distressed asset management or supplier financing.
