Overview The role of the Project Specialist in HR Compensation is to ensure compliance with regulations governing management and union compensation by utilizing advanced analytics and modeling to maintain, evaluate, adjust, and recommend compensation programs and changes. This role involves clearly communicating executive compensation programs and policies to officers, initiating aligned compensation initiatives, overseeing and developing compensation plans for management employees and updating the Compensation Discussion and Analysis Report for proxy and information statements. Additionally, the Project Specialist is responsible for preparing exhibits, testimony, and interrogatories for compensation programs filed with the Public Service Commission and ensuring adherence to Federal and State legislation affecting benefits and compensation programs.
Responsibilities
Core Responsibilities
- Enforce Company safety, health, and environmental programs, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.
- Lead and administer the annual management compensation planning cycle
- Gather and analyze market-based compensation survey data to assess equity compensation administration, design, and market trends
- Review compensation programs and provide recommendations using metrics, trends, models and actionable insights.
- Update management and salary program documentation, including budget, salary structure, and supervisory differential.
- Prepare rate case exhibits, testimony, and interrogatories for Public Service Commission filings.
- Ensure adherence to governmental regulations and internal policies for compensation programs.
- Maintain and update compensation tables and payment data for proxy and information statements.
- Communicate and reconcile with other groups regarding calculations for Executive compensation.
- Performs related duties as required.
Qualifications
Required Education/Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Statistics, Human Resources or related field. and 5 years of work experience or
- Master's Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Statistics, Human Resources or related field. and 3 years of work experience. or
Relevant Work Experience
- Broad compensation and/or benefits experience. Required.
- Must have excellent Presentation and customer service skills. Required
- Advanced data analytics and modelling using programs such as Excel, Power BI, etc. Required
- Excellent oral and written communications as well as interpersonal skills. Required
- Ability to drive multiple assignments and projects to successful completion. Required
- Ability to review and interpret regulations relating to compensation. Required
- An understanding of budgeting and accounting. Preferred
- Willing and able to learn new regulations related to benefits and compensation and integrate these regulations into projects and programs.
- Knowledge of PeopleFluent and Oracle systems for compensation planning. Preferred
