Position Title: Laboratory Technician Wage: $20.00/Hour Shift: 1st Shift Hours: 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM Monday - Friday Join a dynamic quality assurance team where your attention to detail and commitment to safety directly support food integrity and customer satisfaction. In this hands-on lab technician role, you'll conduct essential microbiological and chemical testing, ensure compliance through precise data entry and equipment calibration, and play a key role in maintaining product quality from start to finish. Perfect for someone with lab experience, strong problem-solving skills, and a passion for keeping things clean, accurate, and compliant. Laboratory Technician Responsibilities: - Perform microbiological and chemical testing on in-process and finished products - Conduct environmental monitoring and equipment swabbing to ensure food safety - Enter test data into company systems and maintain documentation - Calibrate, clean, and maintain lab equipment and instruments - Support audits, inspections, and laboratory certification procedures - Monitor inventory and restock lab supplies as needed - Prepare media, materials, and samples for internal and external testing - Perform product hold and release procedures - Follow HACCP protocols and report any food safety concerns immediately Requirements For Laboratory Technician: - High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree in a science field preferred - Prior lab experience preferred but not required - Basic knowledge of lab testing principles - Strong math, reading, and communication skills - Proficiency with Microsoft Office - Ability to work independently and as part of a team - Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities - Stand, walk, and handle materials for most of the shift - Regularly lift up to 40 lbs - Must use safety gear including lab coat, gloves, and eye protection QPS Employment Group is a full-service staffing firm comprised of dedicated and passionate people with over 50 offices throughout the United States.
