Prepress and Digital Manager

Pratt Visual Solutions has an exciting opportunity for a Prepress and Digital Department Manager-First Shift to join our team. This position is responsible for managing, scheduling, and overseeing all production activities while continually maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. Provide supervision and direction to all department staff. This position is responsible for color management across the digital and screen departments (in-house) while providing approved files across network print locations including screen, digital, litho, and dye sublimation.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Day to day oversight of pre-press and digital print departments
  • Instruct staff in preflight files and identify problems. The goal is to assure that we have print ready files. You will check for fonts, resolution, file size, mode, etc.
  • Instruct staff in the proper output of film positives for screen printing
  • Generate, manage and monitor a digital print schedule
  • Able to work in a manufacturing production environment.
  • Responsible for color management across multiple print methods.
  • Profile files to the specifications of each press or output device that it will be running to.
  • Provide production forecast for both departments.
  • Able to design and layout requests from the customer.

SKILLS:

  • Thorough knowledge of ESKO automation engine, KODAK Preps
  • Thorough knowledge of Adobe suite
  • Ability to Manage RIP programs for Screen and Digital printing
  • Strong file troubleshooting skills. Must be able to preflight and analyze client files, identify problems, and fix before they reach press or output device
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, evolving environment with speed and quality as a priority
  • Have a working knowledge of a wide variety of material substrates
  • Ability to communicate effectively with sales, client service and production staff
  • Eagerness to learn new applications and technology as they arise
