Department: Dot Data Services
Reports To: Product Manager - Data Services
Salary Range: $78,288-$117,432 annually, plus bonus opportunity

As the Product Owner for Data Services, you manage the product backlog and delivery for our newly launched data platform and services line of business. You'll optimize the value produced by the software development teams. Success will be evident in story conversion to user experience, highest-value delivery of functional and technical specifications, and the reduction of post-delivery incidents. Your input will also be critical to ensure alignment with and tracking of investment and capacity decisions.

WHAT YOU'LL DO



  • Coordinate business leadership, sales/go-to-market and technology delivery ensure product activity is visible, transparent, and clear to all stakeholders
  • Work with business stakeholders to understand business processes, roadmaps and features to support the business and operational functions required for the Data Services platform, translating roadmaps and features into user stories and a prioritized backlog
  • Track investment, budget, and capacity and make recommendations based on business value opportunities
  • Help lead activities related to agile software development methodologies, including sprint planning, scrums, backlog grooming, and defect management
  • Identify opportunities to leverage technology to improve business processes, and support business and operations efficiency efforts within the department and cross-functionally
  • Manage user acceptance criteria, validation processes, and user/system documentation
  • Coordinate quality assurance activities across the system and supporting processes
  • Analyze requirements for system functions in collaboration with multiple departments, particularly sales/go-to-market and strategic product management
  • Apply lean tools and thinking to identify and eliminate waste in all areas of the position


YOU MUST HAVE



  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent Dot experience
  • 3+ years of practical experience in product management
  • Demonstrable experience in agile development environments, capturing and managing business requirements from variable functions/teams and data-driven decision making
  • Advanced understanding of business processes and practices in business or IT
  • Strong business analysis, project management and communication skills


YOU MAY ALSO HAVE



  • Familiarity with information architecture and product information management
  • Experience with Product Data Governance, GS1 standards, GTIN allocation rules, GDSN, & Product Information Management
  • Experience with PIM, MDM, or ERP software
  • Experience in food distribution, food service or food product manufacturing
  • Excellent interpersonal skills when interacting with internal & external customers
  • Experience with requirement/test/project management solutions, preferably JIRA


ROLE SPECIFICS



  • Occasional overnight travel required. Must have ability to independently travel as needed, without restriction, by all modes of transportation, including car, plane, or train for customer/vendor calls, training, or meetings.
