Pay Rate: $22:00/hr. without benefits

Job Duration: 12 months

Work Hours: Mon to Fri: 8:00am-4:00pm or 8:30am to 5:00pm || Lunch period 1/2 hour

Job Description:

  • The fiscal technician role will be responsible for the reconciliation of client accounts within our office database. This includes, but is not limited to, researching and analyzing financial data, performing bank reconciliations, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of accounting principles, experience with bank reconciliation, strong analytical skills, and proficiency in using spreadsheets.


Preferred Education/Experience:

  • Possession of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; or (4) years of professional experience in the collection, analysis, evaluation, and presentation of financial data for a private or government organization; or 5 years' experience with bank or account reconciliation.
  • Accounting Knowledge: Understanding of basic accounting principles and financial statements (especially balance individual accounts).
  • Banking Processes: Familiarity with bank transactions, statements, and reconciliation procedures.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to identify discrepancies and reconcile differences between bank records and internal financial records.
  • Analytical Skills: Capacity to analyze data, identify trends, and interpret financial information accurately (especially for individual accounts).
  • Software Proficiency: proficiency in using spreadsheets (e.g., Excel) for data manipulation and analysis.
  • Problem-Solving Ability: Capability to investigate and resolve discrepancies or issues related to bank transactions and financial records (for individual accounts).
  • Communication Skills: Clear communication to liaise with bank representatives, colleagues, and possibly auditors to resolve issues or provide explanations.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines, especially during month-end or year-end financial close processes.
  • Integrity and Ethics: Adherence to ethical standards and confidentiality in handling financial data, transactions and confidential information.
  • Adaptability: Willingness to learn and adapt to changes in banking regulations, accounting standards, or software updates and department changes affecting reconciliation processes.
