Summary
The MIL Corporationseeks aData Scientist, Journeymen (Info Systems and Cyber Security, Analyst)to support a Federal Government client in Patuxent River, MD.
This position requires an on-site schedule, with 5 days on-site and is eligible for Compressed Work Schedule (CWS). Schedule is subject to change based on company/contract requirements.
Responsibilities
- Primary requirements of the work are applying professional knowledge of computer science and mathematical and statistical theories, techniques, and methods to gather, analyze, design and construct new processes for modeling, interpret, and/or report quantitative information, trends, relationships and correlations among or within data sets.
- Participate in Mission Thread Analysis to trace system functionality to operational mission objectives, supporting vulnerability identification and resilience strategy validation.
- Identify the methods, processes, algorithms, tools, and systems to extract and interpret findings from varied structured and unstructured data sets related to the data science lifecycle.
- Development of algorithms and/or tools to support data manipulation and processing as well as the use of data visualization techniques to articulate findings.
- Coordinate and execute developmental and operational flight test events, lead mission data collection, real-time safety monitoring, and post-event anomaly analysis to validate system performance against Test and Evaluation Master Plan (TEMP) and Systems Engineering Plan (SEP) objectives.
- Collaborate with Systems Security Engineers, Cybersecurity Engineers, and Program Managers to assess system survivability, mission assurance, and Critical Program Information (CPI) protection during flight operations and cyber-resilience evaluations.
- Conduct Cyber Tabletop Exercises (CTTs), STIG assessments, and vulnerability scans to integrate cybersecurity and resilience considerations into system design verification during testing.
- Support Program Protection Plan (PPP) development and updates by identifying and reporting vulnerabilities impacting CPI, Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN) pathways, and mission-critical subsystems.
Travel
10% to other sites, as needed
Required Qualifications
- At least 3 years of experience working performing the responsibilities similar to those above.
- Two years supporting NAVAIR, NAWCAD.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience assisting more senior positions performing functional duties of a similar position.
- Experience with data reduction, software tools, and their applications.
- Experience with test and evaluation planning and execution.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science or a related field;a Master's degree will be considered in lieu of 2 years of professional experience

For this position, the projected compensation range is $79,000 - $118,000 per year. This estimate represents the typical salary range and is just one part of MIL's complete compensation package.
