Senior Consultant -Indirect Spend, Information Technology

In this role, you will reference your expertise in healthcare, hospital operations, technology vendor processes (including vendor management, contracting, and sales), consulting, and related areas, to identify, deliver, and support cost-reducing strategies for healthcare provider clients. You will analyze data, review and compare vendor contracts and collaborate with client stakeholders to generate strategic insights, identify opportunities to drive performance and quality improvements, implement solutions, and deliver cost savings. You will support business unit growth activities, such as identifying additional opportunities with current client accounts and collaborating with internal teams to develop new solutions and approaches to sell to clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage individual work efforts and projects to deliver insightful data analysis outputs, which may include strategic financial or performance improvement recommendations.

  • Exhibit technical and operational consulting expertise to deliver high quality and timely client outputs.

  • Act as a resource for less-experienced consultants on data interpretation and storytelling with data to drive change.

  • Develop and execute project plans that meet project schedules, budgets, and expected ROI, using project management skills/methodology to guide work efforts and communicate status

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the services and offerings within the Advisory Solutions and Purchased Services Categories (specifically IT & Digital Technologies).

  • Facilitate client meetings and discussions, clearly and concisely present outputs and recommendations to senior leadership.

  • Respond to client requests for ad hoc data analysis, strategy determination and/or coaching.

  • Develop cost savings opportunity analysis and provide negotiation assistance to clients.

  • Develop, execute, and track project plans and savings implementations, and conduct total cost modeling and scenario analysis.

  • Proactively identify potential issues and present viable solutions to ensure deliverables and timelines are met.

  • Identify and report potential upsell opportunities to project leadership; support the development of sales collateral and proposals/SOWs.

  • Participate in the creation of intellectual capital collateral to support the on-going efforts to enhance the visibility of consulting offerings and subject matter expertise.

  • Develop and maintain familiarity with Sourcing portfolio and nuances of contracted vendors. Contribute to team discussions and planning on future portfolio strategy and growth initiatives.

  • Support the development and delivery of new Advisory Services offerings as requested.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant degree preferred.

  • 5 or more years of relevant experience in healthcare IT, IT procurement, vendor contracting, vendor management, technology implementation, hospital operations required. Consulting experience highly preferred.

  • Experience with healthcare IT budgeting, application rationalization/decommissioning processes, cybersecurity (Third Party Risk Management, Governance, Risk, Compliance, Vulnerability Management, Security or Network Operations) is highly preferred.

  • Strong analytical skills with the advanced ability to analyze and interpret data, manipulate data identify opportunities, develop actionable insights, and proficiently manage projects with a results-oriented mindset.

  • Experience with reading, analyzing and interpreting financial reports, legal contracts, and documents to drive results.

  • Strong affinity for developing and managing mid- to senior-level client relationships and expectations.

  • Utilize AI tools such as Natural Language Processing, GenAI, ChatGPT.

  • Ability to travel regularly and expeditiously throughout the year to meet clients' needs and participate in industry events as needed.

Estimated Hiring Range:

At Vizient, we consider skills, experience, and organizational needs in our compensation approach. Geographic factors may adjust the range estimate and hires typically fall below the top range. Compensation decisions are tailored to individual circumstances. The current salary range for this role is $88,900.00 to $155,500.00.

This position is also incentive eligible.
