Job Description

The Thompson Center for Autism & Neurodevelopmental Disorders is pleased to announce the opening of a Business Support Specialist II position. This position is responsible for obtaining prior authorizations for all procedures by successfully completing the authorization process with all commercial payors.

Duties consist of:

Contact insurance carriers to verify patient's insurance eligibility, benefits, and prior authorization requirements.
Request, track, and obtain pre-authorization from insurance carriers within time allotted for behavioral health and/or applied behavior analysis therapy services. Ensure approval is received prior to services being performed.
Demonstrate and apply knowledge of medical terminology.
Communicate insurance changes or trends to the team.
Clearly document all communications and contacts with providers and personnel in standardized documentation requirements.
Respond to clinic questions regarding payer medical policy guidelines.
Confirm accuracy of CPT and ICD-10 diagnoses for the prior authorization.
Other duties as assigned.

Successful candidates will need organizational and time management skills. They will need to have the ability to multitask and remain focused while managing a high-volume and time-sensitive workload.

Shift

Monday - Friday
8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Minimum Qualifications

An Associate's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

1 year of Previous experience working in RevCycle and/or Powerchart is preferred.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $17 - $22 hourly
Grade: GGS - 007
University Title: BUSINESS SUPPORT SPECIALIST II
