Position Function |
The Teachers College Director of Recruitment will lead the strategic development, implementation, and evaluation of on-campus and off-campus outreach and recruitment efforts focused on the enrollment of students in educator preparation programs. Partner with Admissions, the Associate Director of Admissions for Community Outreach, the Director of the Office of Retention and Graduation, and departments within Teachers College and other colleges to develop a marketing strategy designed to recruit and retain students. Recruit, select, and supervise a group of student leaders to assist with outreach and recruitment activities. |
Minimum Education |
Bachelor's degree in education or closely related field from an accredited institution, obtained by date of appointment. |
Minimum Experience |
Experience in recruitment. |
Minimum Other |
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to work collaboratively; adept at using technologies in education; and ability to work independently within changing deadlines. |
Authorization to work in the US |
Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship. |
Preferred Education |
Master's degree in education or closely related field from an accredited institution. |

Travel to high schools throughout the state with a focus on recruiting educator preparation students, meet parents and students at local "college nights," speak at local "career days," attend local, regional, and statewide recruiting events; attend appropriate professional meetings where potential educator preparation majors can be recruited. Attend conferences to learn about effective recruiting practices. Represent the Teachers College at
IDOE-sponsored, recruiting-focused events, training, and collaboration. Overnight travel and participation in weekend recruiting events. |
