Responsibilities

As an Acquisition Management SME / Engine Room Lead with MTSI, you will provide support to Commander, System Delta 82. The candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting the Commander in managing and executing key initiatives, fostering effective communication within the organization, mentoring and teaching squadron personnel, and driving overall operational efficiency. The successful candidate will be a trusted advisor to the Director, possessing exceptional leadership abilities and organizational skills, a proactive mindset, and the ability to navigate complex situations with poise and discretion. This position will be in Colorado Springs, CO.

Your essential job functions will include, but may not be limited to:

  • Providing engineering and technical expertise to support ongoing and new/advanced Command and Control (C2) efforts, integrating those efforts with and into the classified portfolio. Establish a liaison between the System Delta and other related Mission Deltas, System Deltas, including unclassified and classified program offices.
  • Assisting with management of the portfolio by providing information, advice, and recommendations for the effective alignment of portfolio acquisitions, manpower, and funding. Advise and assist program managers to identify and minimize the likelihood of interface and integration problems. Coordinate and resolve issues and facilitate team communication, resolution of program issues, and facilitating effective integration of requirements and efforts with other acquisition and sustainment activities to include internal system interface issues as well as external interface issues with multiple Government or mission partner organizations.
  • Maintain, update, and analyze the acquisition forecast to ensure current and consistent content and identify any disconnects or deficiencies. The acquisition forecast is a projection of current and future contract efforts, milestones, and key decision points.
  • Incorporate inputs from the force design, operational imperatives, and combatant command integrated priority lists, and future force shaping products to deliver recommendations that enhance Government planning and capability.
  • Advise and assist leadership in support of high visibility engagements, commitments, and taskers, to include at the congressional level. Draft, review, coordinate, and process program acquisition information suitable for public release to industry, media, trade publications, and other program stakeholders.
  • Work seamlessly with the Chief of Staff, CAG staff, and other front office personnel to ensure consistent communications and smooth coverage of all internal and external taskings, commander-directed activities, and HHQ-directed work.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 20 years of extensive, relevant experience including duties/assignments specifically in support of space programs.
  • Military/intelligence space systems SME, recognized industry leader.
  • Familiar with use and tracking within Comprehensive Cost and Requirement System (CCaR).
  • Experience with the MS Office Suite of Tools including MS Project, MS Planner, and MS Teams.
  • Experience with MAR software and process and TMT.
  • Deep understanding of mission critical aspects of acquisition and DoD space launch, ground systems, and sustainment and associated projects.
  • Completely comfortable with HAF, USSF, HHQ, and subordinate unit processes and procedures, and able to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing for acquisition, operations, and headquarters audiences.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Over 25 years of experience including in a senior management support role, executive support, or Chief of Staff position.
  • Proven experience as a Materiel Leader, Senior Materiel Leader, Squadron Commander, Group Commander, Wing Commander, or Delta Commander.

Ceritification Requirements:

  • APDP Level 3 certification in program management and/or PMP certification, strongly desired.
  • Completion of DAU program manager's course and membership in Acquisition Corps, desired.

Education Requirements:

  • MS/MA degree in a relevant field.

Security Clearance Level Required:

  • Active TS/SCI security clearance with Special Access Program (SAP) eligibility is required for this position.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.

The pay range for this position in Colorado is $160,000/year to $195,000/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on established government contract ranges, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, and other factors. MTSI also offers a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, dependent on the position offered. Base pay information is based on market location.
