Job Summary

The Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine is currently seeking a Sr. Human Resources Specialist to join our team of professionals.

Duties

  • Manages the Search and Screen process by leading committee meetings, screening all applicants, and providing guidance and support to the committee members throughout the recruitment process. Adheres to all University policies as well as state and local laws, including the Sunshine Law.
  • Coordinates the recruitment and hiring process for all regular, temporary, visiting and postdoctoral positions. Conducts compensation analysis and provides recommendations. Negotiates salary offers with all final candidates. Ensures that the completion of all pre-requirements are met prior to extending the offer letter. Conducts faculty reference checks, background checks, licensure verification, NPBD searches and credentialing for all new hires.
  • Coordinates candidate campus visits and travel logistics, including scheduling panel interviews, agendas, room reservations, booking hotel, travel and transportation, food arrangements, and feedback collection. Responsible for the submission and processing of expense reimbursements for candidates upon completion of travel.
  • Processes faculty appointments including initial appointments, renewals, and non-renewals as needed. Independently communicates with Department Chairs and other administrators involved in the decision process until the appointment letter is executed.
  • Ensures all faculty administrative appointments, tracks, and faculty appointment information is entered accurately in PantherSoft.
  • Processes all new adjunct faculty hires as well as entering contracts for existing adjuncts. Ensures funding forms are completed accurately, using appropriate criteria for payment requests.
  • Process faculty actions in PantherSoft system including but not limited to pay actions, changes in supervisor, department, etc. Ensures changes are reflected accurately in PantherSoft.
  • Assists the leadership team with departmental initiatives regarding faculty affairs and special projects.
  • Makes purchases with the department commodity card and reconciles the department commodity card on a monthly basis. Ensures receipts are accurate and coincide with the monthly credit card statement.
  • Serves as an University card user for departmental transactions. Adheres to University credit card policies and procedures.
  • Performs related duties as required or as directed. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and four (4) years of professional human resource experience.
