Wilbur-Ellis is looking for a sharp, strategic Data Analyst to help power key financial and operational initiatives across our diverse agricultural business units. In this pivotal role, you'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and deliver data-driven solutions that reveal insights, improve performance, and enable smarter decisions at every level. Whether you're analyzing P&L impacts, building predictive models, or crafting compelling data visualizations, your contributions will directly shape our competitive edge and long-term growth. This is a fully remote position, requiring reliable internet and availability for video-enabled virtual meetings. Occasional travel (approximately 10%, typically 1-3 days at a time) may be necessary for in-person meetings or field visits.

What You Will Do in this Role:

1. Financial & Business Analysis

  • Perform in-depth financial analyses to assess the impact of business initiatives on Divisional and Business Unit P&Ls.

  • Support strategic planning efforts, including market sizing, pricing strategies, and ROI projections.

  • Develop financial models for acquisitions and other investment opportunities.

2. Advanced Data Analytics & Modeling

  • Build analytical models using Python, R, SQL, or Databricks to evaluate metrics such as inventory turnover, product mix optimization, customer segmentation, and supply chain performance.

  • Apply statistical and predictive techniques to improve forecasting, yield, and operational efficiency.

3. Data Visualization & Reporting

  • Design clear, compelling dashboards and reports using Tableau, Power BI, or similar tools to communicate insights to stakeholders with varying levels of technical expertise.

  • Translate complex data into actionable insights and strategic recommendations.

4. Data Management & Infrastructure

  • Collaborate with data engineering and IT teams to enhance data infrastructure and ensure quality, security, and scalability.

  • Work with cloud-based data platforms such as Snowflake or Azure Synapse to access, manipulate, and store data.

5. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Serve as a thought partner to business leaders, agronomists, and product managers to understand their analytical needs and deliver tailored insights.

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of new analytics processes and tools across the organization.

6. Agriculture & Market Intelligence

  • Analyze agricultural trends including crop yield, soil conditions, climate data, and commodity pricing to support data-informed decision-making.

  • Monitor compliance and sustainability metrics such as water usage, carbon impact, and environmental certifications.

What You Bring to the Role:

Technical Competencies

  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, R, or Databricks for data manipulation and modeling.

  • Strong Excel skills, including advanced formulas, pivot tables, and financial modeling.

  • Experience with visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI.

  • Experience working with cloud data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, Azure Synapse).

Analytical & Communication Skills

  • Ability to interpret complex datasets, structure ambiguous problems, and communicate clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills with meticulous attention to detail.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field. MBA is a plus.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in data analytics, financial analysis, or business consulting.

  • Experience in agriculture or ag-tech is strongly preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

  • In compliance with all states and cities requiring transparency of pay, the base compensation for this position ranges from $ $76,600.00 - $102,080 per year. Note that salary may vary based on location, skills, and experience.

  • This position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and vacation, holidays, health, dental, vision, mental health, and retirement plan participation, including an employer contribution of up to 7% into your 401(k).
