Directs, manages, and oversees all research operations for the Center for Research Excellence in Supportive Care (CREST) within the OSU Comprehensive Cancer Center and the College of Medicine Division of Palliative Medicine. Provides strategic planning vision and direction for the staff operations and activities. Implements strategic plans consistent with the center. Develop, implement, evaluate strategic communications plan for the centers, programs, and mission. Oversee and participate in the development of the research portfolio. Responsible for ensuring optimal research recruitment and management, as well as the standardization of processes and procedures to improve the research experience for research subjects. Collaborate with the Center director and leadership to identify, create and implement strategic plans to actualize research and business objectives. Maintains complete responsibility for staffing requirements, training, organization structure, development of staff, support fast growing clinical research and assist with NIH, foundation, and industry-sponsored research growth; identify, recruit, train and develop a talented team of employees who can lead critical research areas and manage strategic research functions. Evaluates staff performance and implements measures necessary to maintain quality performance and results. Ensures all research staff complies with training and regulatory compliance, institutional and division requirements. Oversees research recruitment activities; serves as an integral position in research efforts for grants, research projects, IRB approvals and community activities; collaborates with planning, development amp; writing of NIH industry sponsored research project applications; plans and develops budgets for projects. Develops and reviews databases; analyzes data and coordinates results for submission to sponsoring agencies; develops specifications for generated reports; assesses needs of investigators and modifies data collection. Analyzes systems and processes to ensure efficient clinical research operations. Ensures the administration of quality care for research endeavors. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of the OSUCCC and University.
