If so, consider joining the PRCS After-School team within the Department of Parks, Recreation & Community Services. We currently have an immediate opening for a year-round After-School Coordinator in Leesburg, VA. The County's After School Activities (CASA) program and the County's Youth After School (YAS) program serve elementary and middle school children across 63 locations. The After-School Coordinator is responsible for employing strong organizational and management skills to plan and execute appropriate age activities while supervising CASA and/or YAS site staff.
We are currently hiring for the following location(s): * PRCS, 742 Miller Drive, Leesburg, VA
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: * Acts as an intermediary facilitating communication among parents, school administration, and program personnel. * Recruits, trains, and oversees employee performance in alignment with County and Human Resources (HR) policies; offers consistent feedback, mentoring, coaching, and training; fosters teamwork and collaboration; conducts performance evaluations; ensures compliance with all relevant policies and procedures of the Department and the County; verifies that staff training and certifications are up to date; and informs the supervisor of any issues related to staffing, workload, or performance. * Coordinates budget management and program resources and assesses the program's overall impact. * Implements community education and outreach efforts aimed at increasing public knowledge of the program and its available benefits; identifies approaches and locations for sharing information about programs and activities. * Ensures conformity with applicable laws and regulations. * May carry out additional critical job responsibilities pertinent to the role and departmental assignment.
*The After-School Coordinator will act as the on-duty manager until 6:15 PM, one to two times each week.
Salary is commensurate with experience.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and two (2) years related work experience including one (1) year of lead or supervisory experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications: * Prefer bilingual ability in English and Spanish.

Must undergo criminal, credit, DMV, and Child Protective Services (CPS) background checks. Valid driver's license and good driving record required. Driving records may be assessed on an annual basis to ensure ongoing qualification. TB test within 30 days of hire; pass Child Protective Services (CPS) check; hold or obtain First Aid/CPR certifications at hire or within four (4) months.
