Description

Vedder Price's Chicago office is seeking a Project Assistant. This is a high-profile, entry-level position offering a unique opportunity to learn Finance and Transaction work from the ground up. As a project assistant you'll gain foundational knowledge and skills while providing task-based support to the paralegals who work directly with the attorneys.

As the Project Assistant, your duties will include but not be limited to:



  • Annual billable target of 1,050 hours
  • Review and organize due diligence materials
  • Organize UCC filings and lien searches
  • Assist with obtaining and completing forms and filing documents
  • Routinely organize and maintain files related to various transactions
  • Review and track closing documents
  • Prepare closing documents and assist at closings
  • Prepare closing sets (electronic and/or hard copy)
  • Follow up, track and organize post-closing items
  • Work with vendors to order and process requests

  • Ability to learn quickly and apply training to practical issues
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure
  • Ability to multitask and exercise successful time management
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to work overtime


Qualifications & Required Experience:



  • Bachelor's degree, a certificate from an ABA approved paralegal training program or equivalent experience preferred


Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be proficient in the following software:



  • Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook; Edge, or Chrome; Adobe
  • Experience in DocuSign, iManage, or secured file transferring software is a plus


Compensation Range: $50,000/yr. to $55,000/yr.
