Join the nVent team as a Maintenance Technician

In this position, you will get to:

  • Perform and record preventive maintenance as defined on all production equipment.
  • Repair and maintain all production equipment as required.
  • Maintain an adequate supply of spare parts for repairs and PMs.
  • Move, anchor, and align production machines as requested.
  • Perform forklift section repairs and preventive maintenance on all company forklifts, man-ups, high reaches and personnel carriers.
  • Observes all applicable safety rules and reports unsafe conditions or potential safety hazards to Supervisor.
  • Notify maintenance supervisors, department leader, and value stream mangers when problems arise concerning equipment, operations, materials etc.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1-2 years mechanical maintenance experience
  • Experience in manufacturing environment preferred
  • No corrective actions or performance improvement plans within six (6) months of the job posting opening date
  • No decision making leaves within 12 months of the job posting opening date
  • Most recent performance rating of 4.0 or greater
  • Successfully completed six (6) months in current job bid classification OR current career advancement classification.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Basic knowledge of business processes.
  • Mechanical skills, welding skills (stick and wire feed), print reading, etc.
  • Skills in attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Skills with written and verbal communication.
  • Skills in using drill press, torches, hand tools, cut off saw, iron worker, etc.
  • Ability to obtain forklift and company Vehicle Driver's licenses.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs overhead.
