Summary of Job Duties:Under the Associate Director of Payroll & Business Administration, the Fiscal Operations Manager's primary obligations is responsible and accountable for payroll administration and the accuracy of Summer School, Intersession and Global Campus workloads.

Payroll administration includes, payroll accounting adjustments, payroll entries, and auditing positions for costing allocations accuracy.

The Manager is responsible for directing the College's payroll activities to continuously improve processes and procedures to ensure accurate and timely payments, to comply with University policies, and to provide exceptional customer service.

The Manager coordinates with academic departments in the College to make certain that payroll information needed for the performance of their functions is made available without undue delay.

The Manager meets with department chairs and/or administrators on a regular basis addressing payroll and workload issues.

This role ensures the precision and timely execution of all costing allocations, Payroll accounting adjustments and Function 51 errors.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others. Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • The formal education equivalent of a bachelor's degree in general business, finance, or a related field

  • At least two years of experience in auditing, payroll, or related area

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least three years of experience with Accounting and Financial Reporting at University of Arkansas

  • Experience with University Workday system

  • Experience with University payroll processing

  • Advanced Excel knowledge

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of accounting principles and database management

  • Excellent communication skills and demonstrated professionalism

  • Ability to manage complex Excel spreadsheets

  • Ability to work independently

  • Ability to multi-task and to be detail oriented

  • Ability to comprehend and assimilate technical and business-related documents

  • Ability to conduct research and prepare reports
