Position Summary:

Vallen is a global leader in integrated supply and industrial distribution. With nearly $3 billion in revenue, we support some of the best and largest brands in the world. The North American Marketing team is seeking a talented and experienced Sr. Graphic Designer, based in Charlotte, NC, to join our creative team. This is a hybrid role, offering a mix of in-office and remote work.

The position supports marketing initiatives across North America, partnering with stakeholders in the U.S. and Canada. The Lead Graphic Designer will serve as the creative lead behind our visual concepts, designs, and layouts across a variety of media-ranging from sales collateral and presentations to advertisements and digital content. You will work closely with Marketing, Sales leaders, and Communications teams to deliver impactful design projects that support Vallen's brand, campaigns, and business goals across North America.

This role will manage an international design team based in Mexico, guiding the overall creative vision, ensuring alignment with brand aesthetics and business goals, and evolving our visual identity. Given the international scope of the team, bilingual fluency in English and Spanish is a strong plus. You must be a highly creative thinker, strong communicator, and proactive executor who thrives in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.

Staff Management Responsibilities:

Immediate supervision over a unit, section or department where the majority of the time is spent assigning, reviewing, checking work and eliminating ordinary difficulties. Recommends candidates for hiring, termination; prepares and conducts performance appraisals and salary reviews, and applies company policies.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

General Marketing:

  • Lead high-visibility, complex design projects from concept through execution with minimal supervision.
  • Develop and execute innovative visual concepts and high-quality designs across digital and print media, including sales collateral, brochures, email campaigns, landing pages, presentations, event branding, social media graphics, internal communications, and video content.
  • Lead and manage a team of two graphic designers located in Vallen Mexico, providing creative direction, mentorship, and constructive feedback to ensure continuous improvement and high-impact output.
  • Guide the overall design vision and uphold brand standards to ensure consistency and alignment with business goals across all platforms.
  • Collaborate closely with Marketing, Sales, Communications, and other cross-functional stakeholders across the U.S. and Canada to understand project needs and deliver impactful, on-brand creative solutions.
  • Translate complex content and business strategies into clear, visually compelling assets that support sales growth and marketing campaigns.
  • Maintain and evolve brand guidelines in partnership with the marketing team
  • Manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, balancing shifting priorities and tight deadlines while maintaining a high attention to detail.
  • Oversee the end-to-end design process-from concept through execution-while ensuring quality, efficiency, and alignment with project objectives.
  • Utilize project management and collaboration tools (e.g., Asana, Smartsheet, Microsoft Teams) to coordinate and manage workflow across the team.
  • Produce and edit short-form video content for social media and internal communications (experience with Adobe After Effects is a plus).
  • Serve as a strategic design consultant to internal clients, advising on creative approaches that align with brand and business objectives.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Marketing, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in graphic design, with a strong portfolio showcasing a variety of design projects.
  • Proven experience managing and leading a design team.
  • Strong understanding of visual design principles, typography, color theory, and layout techniques.
  • Mastery in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and other relevant tools.
  • Experience working with global brand guidelines and cross-cultural teams.
  • Experience with video editing software (e.g., Premiere Pro, After Effects) is highly desirable.
  • Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish is a strong plus
  • Familiarity with basic web design and UX/UI principles is a plus.
  • Ability to think creatively and strategically, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a structured, deadline-driven environment.
