About the Role:

The Search & Discovery Growth Manager develops and executes the organization's search and discovery (S&D) strategy to drive site traffic growth as well as brand and product discovery through tools consumers use to search for our brands, categories, and products. Collaborates with external partners, cross-functional teams within the Digital Commerce COE and throughout the businesses to deliver S&D goals and plans.

What you will be doing:

Strategy Development:



  • Develops comprehensive S&D strategies to improve brand and product discoverability across multiple and diverse platforms including search engines, social platforms, AI assistants and drive traffic to the Johnson Outdoors' brand websites. Works closely with direct-to-consumer (DTC), digital marketing and brand management teams, to align S&D efforts with overall business objectives and ensures seamless integration with other marketing initiatives.
  • Sets measurable goals and KPIs for S&D performance and effectively evaluates strategies against DTC, marketing goals and aligned-on KPIs.
  • Develops and socializes S&D playbooks to guide internal and external planning and implementation.



Project Management:



  • Leads and manages S&D projects including goals, timelines, milestones, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Monitors projects to meet deadlines and quality standards.



Keyword Research:



  • Conducts thorough keyword research to identify high-value keywords, shares with internal teams and external parts, and optimizes content accordingly.



Site On-Page Optimization:



  • Oversees on-page optimization efforts including meta tags, headers, URL structures, and internal linking.



Content Strategy:



  • Collaborates with content creators to ensure S&D best practices are integrated into content development and publishing.



Site Technical SEO:



  • Manages Technical S&D aspects such as redirects, site structure, content organization and completeness, and crawlability; conducts regular audits to identify and fix issues.



Analytics and Reporting:



  • Monitors, analyzes and reports on S&D performance.



Industry Trends:



  • Stays updated with the latest SEO & GEO trends, algorithm changes, and best practices to ensure continuous improvement.

What you need to succeed:



  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, marketing analytics, advertising, digital marketing, or equivalent.
  • Typically requires a minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible digital marketing experience which includes developing and executing SEO strategies within a customer goods industry.
  • Proven ability to create S&D strategies from data to meet business cases, market insights, and requirements.
  • Strong analytical skills, proven to be data-driven, with a strong understanding of SEO and content management best practices.
  • Curious and an advanced knowledge of industry trends in how consumers learn about and find brands and products.
  • Experience working across multiple brands and departments in an influencer role and collaborates to enhance website performance and visibility.
  • Advanced knowledge of and experience with technical SEO, web content strategy, AI assistants, GEO (Generative Engine Optimization), social platforms and leveraging these disciplines to drive organic traffic across Okta.com, AuthO.com, subdomains and microsites.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills and ability to work across diverse teams which include highly technical and non-technical members.
  • Strong organizational and project planning skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and abilities.
  • Experience managing external agencies which includes budgets, timelines, and oversight of performance targets.
