Janitor Job Summary Performs general cleaning and minor maintenance duties relating to building maintenance, sidewalks/parking lots/grounds and equipment in clean, orderly, and functional condition. Essential Functions Clean and sanitize restrooms/bathrooms/breakrooms/kitchen areas using established practices and procedures. Clean, dust and wipe furniture; sweep, mop, or vacuum floors, empty/clean wastebaskets and trash containers; replace light bulbs; refill restrooms and breakrooms/lunchrooms paper towel dispensers. Assist with the setup of facilities for meetings, conferences, event, etc Use and maintain assigned power equipment and hand tools; buffers, mops, squeegees, vacuum for cleaning and general maintenance of floors, walls, carpets, furniture, etc.; use ladders when required in work assignments Follow instructions regarding the use of chemicals Perform cleaning and related activities such as removal of snow or debris from entrances, walkways, parking lot surrounding buildings Performs other job-related duties as assigned Education and Work Experience High School diploma or GED equivalent, preferred. Six months of similar job experience, preferred. Other Required Skills and Abilities Managing one's own time and the time of others to ensure efficiency. Willingness to perform work accurately and thoroughly. High attention to detail. Employee must be able to: Model behaviors of reliability as outlined in Company Attendance Policy. Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and move items up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
